World War 2 Exhibition

The World War 2 Exhibition was held at Upham Village Hall on the 7-8 May 2022

What a fantastic show! Following the success of the WW1 exhibition held in 2018, the organisers of this exhibition pulled all the stops out for this fascinating, extremely well attended follow-up. Packed full of stories of local wartime, I learned that Widlers Lane, where I live, had been bombed! The displays recounted the events of World War 2 in vivid detail, and the artefacts reflected, and brought back memories of the times, accompanied by a sound track of old favourite wartime songs from members of Upham Players. Stars of the show were perhaps the magnificent collection of bicycles, trucks and tractors from the time.

Enormous congratulations must go to the organising committee for mounting such a splendid show.
