Village Design Statement Consultation

Gwyn Halsall (chair of Upham Parish Council) writes:

Back in 2020 we started the process of updating our Village Design Statement (VDS). Many of you have been involved along the way – surveying the village, responding to local consultations in the Village Hall and at the church fete.  Many thanks for your input which has been instrumental in drafting this document.

The draft Upham VDS has been submitted to The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) and is now going out for formal consultation.  All documents and information can be found at https://www.southdowns.gov.uk/planning-policy/neighbourhood-planning/village-design-statements/current-consultations/ Hard copies of the document are available at the church, the Brushmakers Arms, and by contacting Anne Collins, our Parish Clerk, on 01489 860236. Each Parish Councillor also has a hard copy that you can borrow.

Please do take the time to have a look at it and provide any comments directly to the SDNPA at consultations@southdowns.gov.uk or by post to Planning Policy Team, South Downs National Park Authority, South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 9DH. The consultation period is 8 weeks and starts on Tuesday 28th May 2024 (at 9.00am) and ends on Wednesday 24th July ( at 11.59pm).

Thank you,

Upham Parish Council
