As you are aware some new affordable homes are being built at the Bargate Homes development at the former Torbay Farm site in Sciviers Lane, Upham. These homes are for people with a housing need but preference will be given to those with a strong local connection to the Parish of Upham. A local connection is defined as meaning that you live in the parish; have previously lived there and still have close family living in the parish; and/or you work there.
To be eligible you must be registered with Hampshire Home Choice and have indicated that you have a local connection to the Parish of Upham.
Once you have registered, and been accepted as eligible, you are likely to be able to bid for one of the homes.
There is a mix of properties to rent:
- Two x 1 bedroom maisonettes
- Two x 2 bedroom houses
- Two x 3 bedroom houses
There are also Two x 2 bedroom houses for shared ownership.
The new homes are due to be completed in September, 2017. Sovereign who will own and manage the homes are holding an Event for potential applicants to find out information about the homes and to view the plans. Winchester City Council officers will be able to explain the paperwork you need to provide as evidence of your local connection to the parish.
