Changes to Xelabus services

Changes to bus services from September

Contracts for local bus services operated by Xelabus Limited are due to expire

in early September and given the rising cost of operating bus services, and with

lower passenger numbers since the pandemic, the company can no longer

operate them within the funding that is available.

As a result the company has had to make the difficult decision to make changes to

its services. The X6, X7, X8, X15 and X17 services will be withdrawn. The X9 and X10

will continue to operate to a revised timetable but 2 hourly and only Monday to Friday.

The X4 service will be extended beyond Eastleigh Bus Station to Velmore Estate

replacing the X7 service along Leigh Road.

Hampshire County Council in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council are

currently exploring options for alternative transport provision in areas that are

most affected. Details of which will be available on the hampshire CC web site

in due course: http://www.hants.gov.uk/transport/public transport.

An information leaflet giving full details of these changes are available from
Eastleigh Bus Station or from bus drivers as well as from our web site
